The Cape Audio
College DJ Course is a program that centers around all the
technical and musical skills that are required to become a
successful DJ in today's competitive club scene.
The course
content emphasizes a greater appreciation of the role of digital
equipment in the construction and performance of today's popular
music. Practical content includes the art of mixing, blending,
cutting and fading as well as advanced techniques designed to give
our students the edge. Those attending will be exposed to leading
industry professionals who will present valuable advice concerning
performance as well as tips on improving your technical ability.
You will start by
being taught the fundamentals of audio systems and gain a thorough
knowledge of t he equipment used, including turn table set up,
mixers, CD technology and Rane Serato Scratch. Then, get your
teeth stuck right into dJing techniques like Beat matching, set
construction, blending, Eq and effects mixing. Before you know it,
you will have the necessary skills, and with practice under the
supervision of our in house pro DJ’s, develop into a competent DJ
ready to make a name for yourself in this lucrative industry.

Course
Structure:
On each attendance day a theory
lecture will be presented
for 2 hours. For the remaining time
students will be
involved in various practical tasks
including 1 hour studio
sessions on Saturdays.
