As the leading Audio Training Institute in South Africa, Cape Audio College is proud to be the first to offer a course which focuses on the live sound environment, and confronts the particularly challenging demands of this fast paced industry.

Live entertainment offers a large variety of job opportunities to those who wish to enter, and there is more demand for live sound expertise today than ever before. This course offers a solid foundation for those wishing to work in entertainment, and provides real world experience.

The Course Director, Terence Collings, has been actively involved in the music industry for the last 11 years. He has gained experience both nationally and internationally, working with bands such as Freshlyground, the Rudimentals, Sons of Trout, McCully Workshop and Rodriguez. Terence has also worked on and managed various South African festivals, both as a Front of House Engineer and as a Monitor Engineer.

This course is the result of many years of planning and experimentation. The course format involves many workshops and practical's, and the student must attend real world live events as part of their tuition.

Career opportunities in Live Sound include Theatre Sound, AV engineering, Conferencing, Installations, Event Management, Live Music and Live Recordings. The course offered provides a deep knowledge of the gear involved and how to set it all up, how to take care of tuning the venue and finally running the event itself, whether it be a conference, a festival or a stage production. Guest lecturers from the industry will be invited to teach you many useful things, with the result that you will be fully prepared for anything you may encounter.
